The depictions are visual abstractions of chess games. On this website they are presented as videos; so, of necessity, they represent a fixed set of parameters for any given depiction. Even the simplest ones have half a dozen variables which can significantly change the drawing ⏤ the most obvious ones are the colors. A more complicated “textile” has an additional half-dozen variables that define the waves that are drawn. In the future, maybe as a web application, I’ll enable users to interact with the depiction, modify the parameters, and create new ⏤ perhaps unexpected ⏤ results.
The videos are embedded using the Vimeo video player. If possible, watch the videos in full screen, on the biggest screen available, at the highest resolution (1080P), controlled by the “Settings” and “Enter Full Screen” icons on the player.
